A fatal accident on I-64 at the Watterson Expressway (I-264) at 2:30 PM on a recent weekday highlights the risks we all face when we leave home each day. No one expects to be involved in a car accident. What should you do if you lose a loved one or are injured in a Louisville motor vehicle accident?
In this case Metro police believe a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling west on I-64 approaching the entrance to the ramps for the Watterson Expressway. The initial investigation determined the pickup truck rear ended a Chevy Equinox, and then hit the back of a Cadillac. Police believe the Equinox and the Cadillac were stopped in traffic prior to impact. The driver of the Ram pickup truck was evidently distracted, or impaired, before the fatal collision occurred.
One of the occupants in the Equinox lost their life, and two others in the vehicle were transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
